To reduce edema after fat transfer, you should apply cold compresses to the area where fat is transferred.

One day after the procedure, you can apply moisturizer to the area where the fat is transferred.

Approximately 4 – 5 days after your fat transfer, you can gently massage the area of fat transfer. This message will help relieve edema.

Avoid excessive heat and steam after fat transfer. Because heat and steam increase edema and affect the result of the surgery adversely.

If the fat transfer performed to your face, you should keep your head as upright as possible throughout the day and not lie face down during the night.

• Sports: You should wait at least 4 – 6 weeks before continuing with any sports activities.
• Sexual Intercourse: Approximately after 4 weeks, you may continue with your sexual activities. Also, for example, if the operation is performed on your glutes, an early pressure can cause fat cells to die or move to undesired parts of the body. This can lead to unsatisfactory treatment results. It is possible to get more satisfactory results when you follow your medical healthcare professionals’ advice thoroughly.
• Alcohol and Smoking: Avoid alcohol consumption for 1 – 2 weeks after surgery. Avoid drinking alcohol until you have finished taking your painkillers. You should stop smoking for at least 6 weeks before and after the operation.
• Driving: If the operation is performed on your glutes, avoid driving at least 6 – 8 weeks after the operation. Because, while driving, when you press the pedals, you push your hips backward with strength from your waist. Therefore, driving during this period can affect the result of your treatment negatively.

Important Note:

After the operation, it is possible that approximately up to 70% of the transferred fat may dissolve after surgery. Therefore, be sure to consult with healthcare professionals on the same beforehand.
